Hydrogen Gas for Cardiac Arrest with ECPR

This study is testing if giving hydrogen gas (2%) is safe and possible for patients who have had a cardiac arrest and need ECPR (Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, a type of life support). Patients admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit with heart problems like congenital heart disease or myocarditis may be eligible. The study aims to see if hydrogen gas, given through a ventilator and ECMO membrane for 72 hours, can help reduce damage after blood flow returns. This study is currently unclear on its status and plans to enroll 53 participants.

Study design
This interventional study will compare usual care to usual care plus hydrogen gas in patients undergoing ECPR. Patients will be randomly assigned to one of these groups.
