EMG-Controlled Game for Upper Limb Recovery After Stroke
This study is testing if practicing upper limb muscle activation patterns using EMG-controlled games and practicing functional upper limb tasks can improve arm and hand function in people who have had a stroke. You might be able to join if you are 18 or older, had a stroke more than 6 months ago, and have moderate weakness on one side of your upper body. The researchers will measure your arm and hand function using the Wolf Motor Function Test to see if the interventions are successful. The current status of this study is unclear, but it plans to enroll 62 participants.
- Study design
- This is an interventional study planning to enroll 62 participants. It is testing two behavioral interventions: practice muscle activation patterns using EMG-controlled games and task practice.
- What's involved
- You would come to the laboratory 23 times over about 2.5 months. This would involve about 3 visits per week for upper limb task practice, muscle activity training, and/or upper extremity functional assessments.
- Compensation
- Not stated in the trial record.
- Follow-up
- Your arm and hand function will be measured within 1 week after the intervention is completed.
