This study is looking for undergraduate students aged 18 or older who have had sunburns, tanned indoors, or tanned outdoors. The goal is to find the best ways to prevent sunburn and encourage sun protection. You would receive education on skin cancer prevention, and then be guided to create a personalized sun protection plan. Some participants will also receive a UV photo of their face, showing sun damage, and/or have an MC1R genetic test (from a saliva sample) to understand their personal skin cancer risk. Researchers will track how often you get sunburned over 15 months to see which approaches work best. The study aims to enroll 528 students.

Study design

This is an interventional study involving 528 undergraduate students. Participants will be randomly assigned to different groups to test various combinations of sun protection strategies.
