Nutritional Optimization for Heart Failure Patients Awaiting LVAD
This study is looking at whether a special nutrition shake, Ensure Surgery Immunonutrition, can help advanced heart failure patients who are waiting for an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device, a mechanical pump that helps the heart pump blood). Researchers want to see if this shake, given before surgery, can improve the balance of gut bacteria (gut microbiome) and reduce inflammation and malnutrition often seen in these patients.
