Brief Family-Involved Treatment Telehealth for Alcohol Use Disorder

This study is looking at a new treatment called Brief Family-Involved Treatment (B-FIT) delivered through telehealth (video calls). B-FIT is a short, 3-session program designed to be added to existing alcohol treatment programs for Veterans with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). The goal is to see if B-FIT, when combined with regular alcohol treatment, can improve family relationships and reduce alcohol consumption. We are comparing B-FIT to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for AUD (CBT for AUD), which is a standard treatment. You may be able to join if you are a Veteran aged 21 or older with moderate to severe AUD and have a family member or close friend who can also participate. The study aims to enroll 400 participants (200 Veterans and 200 family members/friends). The study will measure how well families are doing and changes in drinking habits over 12 weeks.
