Pilot Study of The CKM JumpStart Tool for Chronic Kidney Disease
This study is testing a new one-page handout called the CKM JumpStart Tool. This tool helps older patients (75 years and older) with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) and their doctors have important conversations about conservative kidney management (CKM). CKM is a way to manage kidney disease without dialysis or transplant. The study wants to see if this tool makes it easier for patients and doctors to talk about these options. To join, you must be 75 or older, have advanced CKD (eGFR below 25 ml/min/1.73m2), speak English, and receive care at UW Medicine or VA Puget Sound. The study is currently recruiting about 76 participants.
