Multisensory Augmentation for Post-stroke Standing Balance
This study is testing if a method called "sensory augmentation" can help improve balance in people who have had a stroke. Many people have balance problems after a stroke, partly due to issues with their senses. Sensory augmentation uses gentle vibrations to help you feel where your body is, which might make it easier to keep your balance. You would participate in 20 balance training sessions. Half of the participants will receive balance training with sensory augmentation, while the other half will receive balance training without it. The study will measure changes in your balance using a tool called the Berg Balance Scale. To join, you must be at least 21 years old, had a stroke at least 6 months ago, have a Berg Balance Scale score less than 52, and be able to stand on your own for at least 1 minute. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to enroll 36 participants.
