Pioglitazone for Heart Failure in Type 2 Diabetes

This study is looking at how the diabetes medication Pioglitazone affects people with type 2 diabetes, obesity, and a specific type of heart failure called heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). You would take Pioglitazone or a placebo (an inactive pill) once a day for 24 weeks. To join, you should be between 30 and 70 years old, have a BMI between 27.5 and 40 kg/m², and have an HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar) between 6.5% and 10%.
