Observational Study of Refractive Surgery Effects on OCT Measurements

This observational study is looking at how refractive surgery (like LASIK, which corrects focusing problems such as nearsightedness or myopia) might affect measurements taken with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). OCT is a light-based test used to monitor eye conditions like myopic maculopathy or glaucoma. Researchers want to see if changes in your eye's focusing power after surgery can change the OCT results. You might be able to join if you are at least 19 years old and are having refractive surgery. However, you cannot join if you have severe astigmatism, poor vision, unstable eye movements, or severe dry eye. The study will measure macular thickness (a part of your retina) one day and one week after your surgery to see what changes occur. This study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to include 33 participants.

Study design
This is an observational study, meaning researchers will watch and record changes without giving you new treatments. It plans to include 33 participants.
What's involved
You will have an additional posterior segment OCT (a quick, non-contact eye scan) performed. Macular thickness will be measured one day and one week after your refractive surgery.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Participants will be followed for one week after their refractive surgery to measure macular thickness.
