Neuroimaging of Opioid Phase (OPAL) Study for Chronic Pain

This study, called OPAL, is looking at brain activity in women with chronic pain and/or opioid use, and in healthy women. The goal is to understand how opioid medication affects the brain and to find new ways to treat chronic pain that don't rely on opioids. If you have chronic pain and take opioids, you would have two MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans: one after taking your opioid medication and one before. The study aims to understand the neurobiological (brain-related) effects of opioid therapy. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to enroll 140 participants. You may be able to join if you are a female adult, aged 18 or older, and have chronic pain or are a healthy volunteer.
