Metformin for Microvascular Dysfunction After Gestational Diabetes

This study is looking at how metformin hydrochloride, a common medication, might help improve blood vessel function in women who have had gestational diabetes. Researchers want to understand why some women develop heart and blood vessel problems after gestational diabetes and if metformin can help prevent this. You may be able to join if you are a woman between 18 and 45 years old, are 12 weeks to 5 years postpartum, and had gestational diabetes or a healthy pregnancy. The study will measure your blood flow response to acetylcholine (a substance that affects blood vessels) at the beginning, after 1 week, and after 6 weeks of treatment. Study design
