SAGEH: Self-Administered Gaming and Exercise at Home for Stroke Recovery
This study, called SAGEH, is looking at ways to improve hand dexterity after a stroke. It compares standard care with two additional self-administered therapies: daily exercise routines or using a special device called Twirlstone. The Twirlstone is a knob-like device used to play a video game called Nono's World, designed to help with hand rehabilitation. You might be able to join if you are at least 21 years old, had a stroke within the last 6 weeks that caused arm or hand weakness, and are currently an inpatient at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The study aims to see if these additional therapies improve finger dexterity, measured by a test called the nine-hole peg test (9PHT), up to 6 months after your stroke. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to enroll 60 participants.
