Speech-in-noise Perception in Autism and Fragile X
This study is looking for 60 participants, aged 15 to 35, with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Fragile X Syndrome, as well as typically developing individuals. The goal is to understand how the brain processes speech when there's background noise, and if visual cues can help. You'll have your brain activity recorded while listening to different speech sounds (like "ba" versus "da") and completing hearing tasks. Researchers will also compare your ability to understand numbers spoken in noise, both with and without visual help. To join, you need normal hearing and vision, no history of premature birth, and English as your first language. The study is currently recruiting participants.
