Knee Biofeedback Rehabilitation Through Game Therapy for Knee Osteoarthritis

This study is looking at a new way to do physical therapy for knee osteoarthritis (a condition where the cartilage in your knee wears down). It compares a system called KneeBRIGHT, which uses sensors and video games to guide exercises, with traditional physical therapy. The goal is to see if people who use the KneeBRIGHT system have better knee function and enjoy their exercises more. You might be able to join if you are 30 to 75 years old, have knee osteoarthritis confirmed by an X-ray (with a score of at least 2 on the Kellgren-Lawrence OA scale), and can walk on your own without help. Study design

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion

diagnosis via x-ray, with a score of at least 2 (out of 4) on the Kellgren-Lawrence OA scoring system; independent ambulation without assistive device

Exclusion

individuals who have psychiatric or cognitive impairment (e.g., dementia) that interferes with their ability to follow instructions or provide voluntary consent; symptomatic spine, hip, ankle, or foot disease other than OA that would interfere with assessment of the knee.
