iTBS to Enhance Social Cognition in People With Psychosis

This study is looking at whether a treatment called iTBS (intermittent Theta Burst Stimulation) can improve social thinking skills in people with certain psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. iTBS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate a specific area of the brain (DMPFC). You could be eligible if you are 18-39 years old, have one of these diagnoses, and have been on a stable dose of antipsychotic medication for a certain period. The study will compare iTBS to a sham (inactive) treatment to see if it improves social cognitive performance. The goal is to see if iTBS helps people better understand and respond to social cues.

Study design
This is a double-blind, randomized clinical trial aiming to enroll 100 participants. This means neither you nor the study team will know if you are receiving the active iTBS or the sham treatment.
