Detecting Body Position After Seizures to Prevent Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy
This study is testing a special bed sheet sensor, called the Tactilus Bodyfitter sensor, to see if it can accurately detect your body position, especially after a generalized tonic-clonic (GTC) seizure. GTC seizures are a type of seizure that affects the whole brain. The goal is to see if this sensor can help prevent Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) by automatically repositioning people who are lying face down after a seizure. You may be able to join if you are an adult (18 or older) with drug-resistant epilepsy, meaning your seizures haven't been controlled by at least two anti-seizure medications, and you have a history of electroclinical seizures. The study aims to accurately detect body position within 5 seconds and successfully reposition people from lying face down to a recovery position within 30 seconds. The current status of this study is unclear.
