Brain Health & Wellness Classes for Veterans With Traumatic Brain Injury
This study is for Veterans aged 18-75 who have a chronic history (more than 6 months) of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI, or concussion) and a current diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). You should also have at least one self-reported cognitive symptom. The study is testing two types of 9-week classes: a Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction class, which teaches mindfulness techniques, meditation, and yoga, and a Brain Health Education class, which involves lectures and discussions about how the brain works and recovers after injury. Researchers want to see if these classes improve mental health and daily functioning. The main way they'll measure success is by looking at changes in your daily functioning after the class. The current status of this study is unclear.
