The Fit With Us Study for Mobility Limitations

The Fit With Us Study is looking for 257 participants aged 18 to 89 who have a permanent physical disability that limits their mobility. This 32-week study aims to find the best way to deliver tele-exercise (exercise done remotely) and physical activity programs. All participants will receive access to recorded exercise videos and weekly wellness articles. Some will also receive health coaching calls or live training sessions. Researchers will track your physical activity using a Fitbit and surveys to see how well the different approaches work. To join, you need broadband internet, be able to speak and read English, and attend sessions during weekdays. The study status is currently unclear.

Study design
This interventional study uses a SMART (Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial) design with 257 participants. Participants will be randomized into different groups receiving various combinations of asynchronous exercise content, health coaching, and live training.
What's involved
You will complete a baseline survey, a welcome call, and set up an online account. You will receive an exercise tracker and band, and an orientation call to help you use them. The intervention lasts 32 weeks.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Physical activity will be measured for 32 weeks using a Fitbit, and through surveys at baseline, week 8, week 16, and week 32.

The primary outcome is the change in physical activity (steps per day) from baseline to the end of the 32-week intervention. Participants wear Fitbit Inspire 3 trackers (Google LLC, Sacramento, CA) for continuous objective measurement, with data exported via the study dashboard. This is supplemented by the Godin Leisure-Time Exercise Questionnaire (GLETQ) at baseline, week-8 and week-16 for self-reported leisure-time activity in MET-minutes/week.
