Comparing Ticagrelor and Clopidogrel for Coronary Artery Disease
This study is comparing two anti-clotting medications, ticagrelor (60mg twice daily) and clopidogrel (75mg daily), in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD) who are having an elective procedure to open blocked heart arteries (percutaneous coronary intervention or PCI). All participants will also take aspirin (81mg daily). We want to see if ticagrelor works better than clopidogrel at preventing blood clots, which is measured by a test called P2Y12 reaction units (PRU) after about 30 days. You might be able to join if you are 18 or older, have stable CAD, and have a specific score (ABCD-GENE score of 10 or higher) that indicates a higher risk for clotting problems.
