AI Detection of Coronary Artery Calcium for Heart Disease Prevention

This study, called AI INFORM, is testing if using artificial intelligence (AI) to find calcium in your heart arteries can help prevent heart disease. The AI (Nanox.AI) looks at chest CT scans you may have already had to find this calcium. If calcium is found, your doctor will be notified, and they might recommend treatments to lower your cholesterol. We want to see if this notification leads to more people starting or increasing their cholesterol-lowering medicines. You might be able to join if you are between 40 and 75 years old and have had a chest CT scan in the last three years, and do not have a history of heart disease, cancer, or other life-limiting conditions. The study is currently recruiting 1500 participants.

Study design
This is a randomized study involving 1500 participants. It compares standard care to providing doctors with AI-detected information about calcium in heart arteries.
What's involved
Not specified in the trial record.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
The study will check if participants start or intensify lipid-lowering therapy after 6 months.
