Optic Nerve Head Strain as a Biomarker for Glaucoma

This study is looking at whether images of your eye's optic nerve head, taken at two different eye pressures, can help predict how glaucoma will progress. Researchers will compare these images to changes in your vision over about three years. You may be able to join if you are an existing glaucoma patient at Johns Hopkins, are between 18 and 90 years old, can perform imaging, and can speak and hear English. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status.

Study design
This interventional study plans to enroll 130 participants. It will involve taking images of the eye's optic nerve head.
What's involved
You would have images taken of your eye's optic nerve head at two different eye pressures. These measurements will be compared to your visual field and retinal nerve fiber layer measurements over approximately three years.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Participants will be followed for approximately 3 years to compare optic nerve head mechanical strain to visual field changes over time.
