Prolonged Exposure for Suicidal Individuals with PTSD
This study is looking for people aged 18 and older with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and suicidal thoughts or behaviors. It aims to see if a type of therapy called Prolonged Exposure (PE), combined with a Crisis Response Plan (CRP), is more effective at reducing suicidal thoughts and attempts than PE with a standard self-guided treatment plan. PE therapy involves recounting traumatic memories and facing trauma-related situations. Researchers will measure changes in suicidal thoughts and behaviors, as well as PTSD symptoms, over three weeks and up to one year after treatment. You must be able to speak and understand English and not have an immediate risk of suicide requiring hospital care.
