bpMedManage: Digital Technology for Hypertension Medication Adherence

This study, called bpMedManage, is testing a smartphone app designed to help older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) remember to take their high blood pressure (hypertension) medications. We want to see if using this app, called bpMedManage-S, can improve how consistently people take their medicine compared to another group (bpMedManage-P). We are looking for 100 people aged 60 or older who live in the community, speak English, have some memory challenges, manage at least one blood pressure medication, and use a smartphone. We will measure medication adherence at 4 and 12 weeks to see if the app helps.

    A device used to monitor medication adherence. The medication event monitoring system (MEMS) is a cap that fits on medication bottles and records the time and date each time the bottle is opened.
