Retinal Vascular Changes During Pregnancy Study

This study aims to understand how the back part of your eye, called the retina and choroid, changes during pregnancy. Researchers will use special eye photos, called Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), to look at these changes. These photos are taken at three different times: early in your pregnancy, late in your pregnancy, and after you give birth. The OCT imaging is non-invasive, meaning it doesn't touch your eye. This study is for pregnant women aged 18 and older, who are in their first or second trimester. The goal is to learn more about how pregnancy affects the eyes, which could help doctors better understand eye conditions during pregnancy. The study plans to enroll 90 participants.

Study design
This is an observational study that plans to enroll 90 pregnant women. It is not testing a new treatment, but rather observing changes in the eye.
What's involved
You would have non-mydriatic fundus photography and optical coherence tomography performed at three timepoints: early in pregnancy, late in pregnancy, and after delivery.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Your eyes will be imaged during the 9 months of pregnancy and in the 3 months after pregnancy.
