Regional Monitoring of CF Lung Disease

This study is looking at new ways to measure changes in the lungs of people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Researchers want to understand how stopping and restarting airway clearance treatments (like using an airway-clearance vest) affects these new tests. One of these tests uses a special gas called Hyperpolarized Xe129 (Xenon) with an MRI to get better pictures of the lungs. Another test is called Lung Clearance Index (LCI), which measures how well your lungs are working. You might be able to join if you are 12 to 21 years old, use highly effective CF medicines like Trikafta, and are willing to follow the study schedule. The main goal is to see how well Xenon MRI can detect lung problems after two weeks. The study plans to enroll 60 participants.

Study design
This is an interventional study, meaning participants will receive specific interventions. It plans to enroll 60 participants.
What's involved
You would need to give written consent. You would also need to adhere to the study visit schedule and other protocol requirements. The study involves using an airway-clearance vest and undergoing Hyperpolarized Xe129 MRI as a diagnostic test.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Functional lung abnormalities will be assessed via Xenon MRI at two weeks.
