Hyperpolarized 13C MRI for High-Risk Prostate Cancer

This study is for men with high-risk prostate cancer that hasn't been treated yet. It's looking at how a special type of MRI, called hyperpolarized 13C MRI (HP 13C MRI), can help doctors see early if a treatment is working. You would receive abiraterone acetate and prednisone by mouth. You would also receive an intravenous (IV) injection of hyperpolarized [1-13C] pyruvate and have MRI scans. The main goal is to see changes in a specific measurement from the MRI (pyruvate-to-lactate conversion rate constant, or kPL) within four weeks of starting treatment. This could show if the treatment is effective before surgery. To join, you must be at least 18 years old and have prostate cancer confirmed by a biopsy. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to enroll 32 participants.
