Comparing Robotic vs. Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy for Obesity
This study is comparing two types of weight-loss surgery for people with obesity: Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (LSG) and Robotic Sleeve Gastrectomy (RSG). Researchers want to see if one surgery leads to less pain after the operation. They will measure the amount of pain medication (morphine equivalent dose) you need 24 hours after surgery. You might be able to join if you are between 18 and 70 years old, eligible for sleeve gastrectomy based on NIH guidelines, can give consent, are medically cleared for surgery, and can tolerate general anesthesia. This study will take place at the Cleveland Clinic Bariatric and Metabolic Institute.
