PREVAIL Interdisciplinary Track for Chronic Pain in Veterans

This study is testing if a team of five pain specialists (interventional pain, psychology, pharmacy, nutrition, physical therapy) can help Veterans with chronic pain. You would meet with this team, called the PREVAIL Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), to create a personal treatment plan based on "Whole Health." After five months of coaching calls, you'd have a follow-up visit with the IDT six months later. Researchers want to see if participants report less pain and if pain interferes less with their lives after six months. This study is for Veterans receiving care at the Salem VA Health Care System with a chronic pain diagnosis, and it is currently unclear if it is recruiting.

Study design
This is a randomized clinical trial with a planned enrollment of 150 participants. Researchers will compare participants who receive the PREVAIL Interdisciplinary Team intervention to those who wait six months before participating.
What's involved
