This study is looking at whether using a special mesh called Phasix Mesh can help prevent hiatal hernias (when part of your stomach pushes up through your diaphragm) from coming back after anti-reflux surgery. If you're an adult aged 18 or older, speak English, have documented gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and are scheduled for anti-reflux surgery, you might be able to join. Participants will be randomly assigned to have their hernia repaired either with the Phasix Mesh or with stitches only. The main goal is to see how many hernias return after one year in each group. The study aims to enroll 200 people, but its current status is unclear.
