pH Weighted CEST MRI for Glioblastoma Surgery

This study is comparing two ways to guide surgery for glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer. One group of patients will have surgery guided by standard contrast-enhanced MRI. The other group will have surgery guided by a special type of MRI called pH weighted Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST) MRI. The goal is to see if using pH weighted CEST MRI to guide surgery, which can detect tumor tissue not seen on standard MRI, improves how long patients live without their cancer growing (progression-free survival). You could be eligible if you are at least 18 years old and have a newly diagnosed glioblastoma. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to enroll 60 participants.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion

Male or female ≥ 18 years of age
Documentation of a newly diagnosed World Health Organization (WHO) grade IV glioblastoma as evidenced by clinical features and imaging data
Written informed consent (and assent when applicable) obtained from subject or subject's legal representative and ability for subject to comply with the requirements of the study

Exclusion

Male or female \< 18 years of age
Presence of a condition or abnormality that in the opinion of the Investigator would compromise the safety of the patient or the quality of the data
Not medically cleared for surgery
Previous treatment (any chemotherapy, molecular therapy, immunotherapy, or radiation therapy)
