Early Intervention for Information Processing Speed Deficits in Acute SCI

This pilot study is looking at whether game-like computerized activities can help improve how quickly people process information after a spinal cord injury (SCI). Many people with SCI experience difficulties with thinking skills like attention and memory, which can make daily life and recovery harder. This study aims to see if these game-like activities can make a difference. You might be able to join if you are 18-65 years old and recently had a traumatic SCI (about 6 months ago). The researchers will measure your processing speed using tests like Useful Field of View (UFOV), Letter and Pattern Comparison (LPC), and Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT) at the start, right after treatment (week 13), and later on (week 25). The study plans to enroll 20 participants.

recent traumatic SCI (approximately 6 months post-injury)

Exclusion

no other significant neurological, psychiatric or substance use history
no significantly impairing visual disturbance
