Observational Study of Noninvasive Brain Monitoring in Neurocritical Care

This study is looking at how well a noninvasive device, the Mespere LifeSciences NeurOs Cerebral Oximetry system, can measure brain blood flow in patients with serious brain conditions like traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, or brain tumors. The Mespere sensors are placed on the head to measure things like brain oxygen levels and blood volume. Researchers want to see if these noninvasive measurements correlate with important brain pressure readings (Intracranial Pressure or ICP) and blood pressure (Mean Arterial Pressure or MAP) that are currently measured invasively. This study aims to enroll 25 adults (18-100 years old) who have conditions like TBI, brain hemorrhage, or brain tumors and are already undergoing invasive brain pressure monitoring. The main goal is to see how well the noninvasive measurements of blood vessel function (Vasodilation/Constriction Index, Vascular Resistance Index, and Volume Reactivity Index) match up with brain blood flow and how the brain regulates itself, all measured within one hour.

Study design
This is an observational study planning to include 25 adult participants. It is not testing a new treatment but rather observing how a noninvasive monitoring device performs.
What's involved
If you participate, noninvasive Mespere sensors will be placed on your head. Your blood pressure, intracranial pressure, and the Mespere sensor readings will be recorded.
