American Indian Smokefree Native RCT

{ "American Indian Smokefree Native RCT for Smoking Cessation", "This study is testing two free text message programs to help American Indian and Alaska Native people quit smoking. One program is a general Smoking Cessation Program, and the other is a Cultural Smoking Cessation Program specifically designed for American Indian and Alaska Native individuals. The goal is to see if the culturally-focused program is more effective. You may be able to join if you are an American Indian adult, smoke at least 3 cigarettes a day, are considering quitting, have a smartphone, and can read English. The study will measure success by seeing how many participants can stay smoke-free for 7 days, confirmed by a breath test, at 6 months. The current recruitment status is unclear.", "design": "This is a randomized study with two groups, aiming to enroll 416 participants. You would be randomly assigned to one of the two text message programs.", "commitments": "You would use the assigned text message program for 6 months and complete surveys at the start, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months. Breath tests to check for smoking will also be done at 1, 3, and 6 months.", "compensation": "Not stated in the trial record.", "follow_up": "Participants will be followed for 6 months, with the primary outcome measured at that time.", }
