Fall Preparedness Program for Older Adults

This study is looking at whether a special exercise class, called a Fall Preparedness Exercise Class, can help older adults feel more confident about not falling. Researchers want to see if this class can reduce the fear of falling, improve how well people can move, and ultimately lower the number of falls that cause injuries. You can join if you are 60 to 105 years old and can participate in an exercise program. The study will measure your confidence in not falling (using something called the Fall Efficacy Scale International, or FES-I) before, during, and after the 12-week exercise program. The current status of this study is unclear, and it plans to enroll 30 participants.

Study design
This is an interventional study with a planned enrollment of 30 participants. It is not specified if it is randomized or blinded.
What's involved
You would participate in a 12-week Fall Preparedness Exercise Class held bi-weekly. You will also have measurements taken about 4 weeks before the class starts, at the beginning of the class, and again at the end of the 12-week program.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
The primary endpoint, Fall Efficacy Scale International (FES-I), is measured through the completion of the intervention, which is approximately 15 weeks from the initial baseline measurement.
