School-based Paraeducator Education for Engagement at Recess
This study is looking at how to best help school staff, like paraeducators, use a program called Remaking Recess (RR). RR is designed to improve social skills during recess for elementary students (grades K-5) who have autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as other students who might feel left out. The study is testing if training and coaching for educators, with or without extra school-level support called TEAM, helps them use RR effectively and consistently. We want to see if these approaches maximize how well paraeducators use RR. The study plans to enroll 350 participants, including students aged 5-12 and educators aged 18 and older who work in public schools in the United States. The main goal is to measure how well Remaking Recess is being used over 16 months.
