Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Cystic Fibrosis-Related Diabetes Screening

This study is looking at how well a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) called Dexcom G7 can help screen for cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD) in adults with cystic fibrosis (CF). CFRD is a common type of diabetes in people with CF that can affect lung health and nutrition. Currently, an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is used to screen for CFRD, but it can be time-consuming. This study will have 30 participants wear a Dexcom G7 for 10 days and compare the blood sugar (glucose) readings from the CGM to the standard OGTT results. You may be able to join if you are an adult with CF, have normal or impaired glucose tolerance from a recent OGTT, and are not currently being treated for CFRD or have had a transplant. The study aims to see if CGM can be a good way to screen for CFRD.

Study design
This is an observational study involving 30 adult participants. It compares blood glucose measurements from a continuous glucose monitor with standard screening methods.
What's involved
You would wear a Dexcom G7 sensor for 10 days, with assistance for application and app setup. You would also continue with your annual OGTT and HgbA1c tests.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Blood glucose measurements will be taken over 10 days. The record does not specify follow-up beyond this period.
