Ketamine and Stellate Ganglion Block for Posttraumatic Headache and PTSD

This study is testing if a procedure called Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) or a medication called ketamine, either alone or combined, can help people with posttraumatic headache (headaches after a brain injury) or Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Researchers want to see if these treatments can improve your quality of life. You might be able to join if you are an adult aged 18 or older with stable medications for at least two weeks and have specific scores on headache (HIT-6) or PTSD (PCL-5) questionnaires. The study will measure how much your headaches improve and your PTSD symptoms at 4 weeks to see if the treatments are successful. This study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to enroll 175 participants.

Study design
This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 175 participants across four groups. Participants will receive either SGB, ketamine, a combination, or a placebo (inactive treatment).
What's involved
You will have patient-reported outcomes collected at baseline, 1 week, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks. If you have a positive response at 4 weeks, you will be followed at 8 and 12 weeks.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Participants with positive outcomes at 4 weeks will be followed for an additional 8 weeks, for a total of 12 weeks.
