Brain Uptrain to Improve Learning and Development in Infants

This study is looking at whether an early learning program, in addition to shared reading, can improve how well infants develop. All families in the study will receive training on shared reading. Half of the families will also get extra training from a coach on early literacy (reading and writing skills) and numeracy (math skills). We want to see if this extra program helps infants score higher on developmental tests (ASQ-3 scores) when they are 24 months old. You can join if your baby was born at UAB, was at least 35 weeks old at birth, and is going home after delivery. We are not sure about the current recruitment status for this study.

This is a randomized controlled trial, meaning participants are assigned by chance to one of two groups. It plans to include 188 participants.
What's involved
Information about your infant's development will be collected through parent surveys, medical records, questionnaires, and assessments at 12, 24, and 36 months.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Participants will be followed with ASQ-3 assessments at 12 months, 24 months, and 36 months.
