Free Time For Wellness 2+ for Physical Inactivity
This study, called "Free Time For Wellness 2+", is looking at ways to help mothers with young children become more physically active. Many mothers, especially those with lower incomes, find it hard to fit exercise into their busy lives. This study will compare different approaches: some participants will receive free fitness classes, others will get free fitness classes plus childcare during those classes, and a third group will receive fitness classes, childcare, and also participate in peer support activities like volunteering. The main goal is to see if these interventions increase the total minutes you spend in moderate to vigorous physical activity. This study is currently recruiting and aims to enroll 630 participants. To join, you must be an adult, speak English or Spanish, have children under 12, own a mobile phone, and live in specific zip codes around Shape Up NYC sites, with a household income below a certain level.
