Isometric Reaching for Movement Training in Stroke
This study, called IsoReach, is exploring a new way to train movement using a robotic arm and virtual reality. Researchers want to see if practicing "Isometric Reaching" – where your hand stays in place but you use force to move a virtual arm – can help both healthy people and those who have had a stroke. You would practice reaching tasks in a 3D virtual world. The main goal is to see if the errors you make during this isometric training are similar to errors made during regular, unconstrained reaching. This could help us understand how to improve movement skills. We are looking for 56 participants who are at least 18 years old and have not had a stroke.
