Anticholinergics for Cervical Edema in Labor
This study is looking at whether a single dose of intravenous (IV) Diphenhydramine (an antihistamine) can help prevent labor from stopping and reduce the need for a C-section in women having their first baby. You might be able to join if you are at least 18 years old, pregnant with one baby at 34 weeks or more, your water has broken, and you are in active labor (cervix dilated at least 6 cm). The researchers want to see if Diphenhydramine helps your cervix fully dilate (reach 10 cm) within 4 to 6 hours of treatment. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to enroll 200 participants.
