FAMily-centered WEight Loss for Black Adults (FAM WEL B-ing) Study
This study, called FAM WEL B-ing, is looking for Black adults who want to lose weight and have a family member or partner who also wants to join and supports their weight loss goals. The study is testing different combinations of family skills training, like how many sessions there are (5 or 10), if they are in-person or online, and if they focus on communication or family togetherness. The main goal is to find out which combination of these family components, along with a standard weight loss program, works best for Black adults. Researchers will measure changes in body weight over 6 months to see what is most successful. The study is currently recruiting 256 participants.
