Computerized Decision Support for Familial Hypercholesterolemia
This study is testing if a computer alert system, called Alert-based computerized decision support, can help doctors better identify and manage Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH), a genetic type of high cholesterol. The computer program will run within your electronic health record (EHR) and look for signs of FH. The main goal is to see if this alert increases how often doctors diagnose FH. You might be able to join if you are 18 or older, are seen in specific clinics at BWH (Brigham and Women's Hospital), and have a certain score (Dutch Lipid Clinic Network score of at least 3 points) that suggests you might have FH. You cannot join if you already have a documented FH diagnosis in your medical records. This study plans to include about 450 people.
