Postoperative Outcomes with Mayo Clinic Florida Care Hotel After Mastectomy

This study is looking at how patients recover after a mastectomy (surgery to remove breast tissue) and tissue expander placement (a step in breast reconstruction). It compares the recovery of patients who stay at the Mayo Clinic Florida Care Hotel after surgery to those who go home or stay in the hospital. The Care Hotel is a special place that offers nursing care and monitoring in a comfortable hotel-like setting. Researchers want to see if staying at the Care Hotel affects complications (problems after surgery) within 30 days. You may be able to join if you are a woman aged 18 or older who has had this type of surgery for breast cancer or to prevent cancer due to a high-risk gene.
