Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for Autism Spectrum Disorder
This study is exploring how a treatment called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) might help teenagers with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Researchers believe that differences in how certain brain areas, called the "social reciprocity network," connect and communicate might contribute to the core challenges in ASD. This study will use TMS, specifically a type called intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS), to see if it can improve these brain connections and communication patterns. They will measure brain activity using quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) to see if there are changes after the treatment. You might be able to join if you are 13 to 18 years old and have an ASD diagnosis. However, you cannot participate if you have severe anxiety that prevents cooperation, a history of seizures, metal in your head or neck, or are pregnant. The study aims to enroll 12 participants.

What this trial measures
- Exploring neuronal connectivity and oscillatory patterns in the social reciprocity network in ASD9 weeks
Abnormal connectivity affecting the social reciprocity network contributes to the core deficits in ASD. The investigators will record an electroencephalogram (EEG) at baseline and after completing treatments with transcranial magnetic stimulation. The EEG data will be subjected to mathematical analysis in order to calculate measures of EEG coherence, functional connectivity and oscillatory patterns within the social reciprocity network. These numerical values will be used to discern: 1. presence of a consistent pattern across the social reciprocity network at baseline for measurements of neuronal connectivity as well as the oscillatory patterns including alpha, beta, gamma, theta and mu rhythms 2. improvement of the above neuronal connectivity and oscillatory patterns after the transcranial magnetic intervention
