AquaLumen for Open-Angle Glaucoma

This study is testing a new, implant-free, minimally invasive surgery called AquaLumen for people with moderate to severe open-angle glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye condition that can damage your vision. The AquaLumen procedure aims to lower the pressure inside your eye (intraocular pressure or IOP). Researchers will follow 10 participants for one year to see how well AquaLumen lowers IOP and if it reduces the need for glaucoma eye drops. To join, you must be 18 or older and have moderate to severe open-angle glaucoma with a specific central corneal thickness. You cannot have had a corneal graft, corneal opacities, or a failed trabeculectomy (another type of glaucoma surgery). The current recruitment status is unclear.

Study design
This is an interventional study following a group of 10 participants. It is not specified if it is randomized or blinded.
What's involved
Participants will undergo the AquaLumen surgical procedure and be followed for one year.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Participants will be followed for 12 months after the procedure to measure eye pressure and medication use.
