Auriculotherapy Neuroimaging for Chronic Low Back Pain

This study is investigating how auriculotherapy, a type of ear stimulation, might help people with chronic low back pain. Researchers will use brain imaging to understand its effects. You could be eligible if you are at least 18 years old and have had low back pain daily for at least six months, with an average pain score of 3 out of 10 in the last week. The study will test cryo-auriculotherapy, which uses a device to apply a focused jet of cold to seven small areas on both ears. This is generally not painful and is less invasive than needles. Success will be measured by changes in brain activity, specifically how different parts of the brain respond and connect after receiving the real auriculotherapy compared to a sham (inactive) treatment. The current recruitment status is unclear.

Study design
