Preventing Type 2 Diabetes in Young Black Women

This study is looking for young Black women, aged 18-25, who are overweight or obese, have prediabetes, and experience binge eating. The goal is to prevent Type 2 Diabetes, which affects Black Americans at higher rates. Researchers are testing two behavioral programs: Appetite Awareness Training (AAT) and the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP). These programs involve 16 core sessions over six months, followed by six maintenance sessions over 12 months. The study will measure changes in binge eating episodes and weight regain to see how well these programs work. This study aims to help reduce the risk of Type 2 Diabetes in this specific group.
