This study is looking at how your brain processes words and numbers using a technique called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). TMS uses a magnetic field to briefly stimulate specific areas of the brain. Researchers want to understand when a part of your brain called the left anterior temporal lobe (ATL) becomes active when you're thinking about words. You might be able to join if you are a native English speaker between 18 and 40 years old, and do not have certain medical conditions like dementia or a history of brain injury. The main goal is to see how TMS affects your reaction time when you decide if something is a real word or not. The study plans to enroll 36 participants, but its current recruitment status is unclear.

Native speakers of English

Exclusion

Potential participants with a clinically reported history of dementia, alcohol abuse, psychiatric or neurological disorders, traumatic brain injury, or extensive vision or hearing problems that prevents them from performing the tasks
Contraindication to TMS, determined by a standard TMS screening form
Contraindication to MRI, determined by a standard MRI screening form
