Achieving Routine Intervention and Screening for Emotional Health (ARISE) for Type 2 Diabetes

This study, called ARISE, is looking at how well screening and support for diabetes distress (the stress, fear, and guilt of managing diabetes) works for people with Type 2 Diabetes. It will train community health center staff to use the ARISE algorithm to screen for diabetes distress and offer support, or provide a brief training on American Diabetes Association guidelines for screening. You might be able to join if you are an adult (18 or older) with Type 2 Diabetes, have an A1C (a measure of blood sugar over time) greater than 8%, and are a patient at a participating clinic. The study will look at how your A1C changes over 12 months. This study plans to enroll 1250 people, but its current status is unclear.
